Sydney so far.....

Well, I'm rolling into my third week in Sydney. Time is flying but it also feels a lot has happened.

The first two weeks was about getting to grips with the place. A lot of walking, a lot of sunbathing. Having time to work out and eat healthy too! You might think why? You're on holiday!! It's not like that here. It is soooo easy to be healthier and fitter. You stand out if you don't. That's true to Sydney so it could be different at other places.

The first day I arrived at Sydney was wet. Quite funny really as I had left a very wet Heathrow. The big difference though was the temperature and humidity. You really don't mind if it rains here, it's actually quite refreshing and many people don't bother using an umbrella, except me thought! Lol

Everything seems to be in walking distance here. A good thing really as the transport system is a bit behind London standards. Never thought I would hear myself say that. It is a good system never the less and has some stunning views as is goes over Sydney Harbour Bridge seeing The Opera House and the city as you enter the central area. The city is very clean and very well planned. I cannot believe the amount of good shops they have and in abundance. The Australian staff are very friendly in the shops but are a little indifferent in the restaurants. I've been told this is down to being paid well and not working for tips. No incentive to go that extra mile!! Lol

Beaches are excellent and quite unique here. I've only visited two, Bondi and Coogee. I have a few to visit before my trip ends. The beaches are surrounded by good facilities. Washing and hydration free and easily accessible. The waves are crazy at times and very spectacular. Many suffers are here and it looks very cool!!

So far, I have taken limited photos in terms of variation but this will change as I get to know where everything is. This week will definitely be the one that has more variation.

Clubs and pubs I have no idea yet but again this will change soon.

So there we have it. The first few weeks in a nuts shell. Many activities planned including The Gold Coast so watch this space. This place has character, the weather is amazing. It is a very addictive city!! Let's see where this adventure goes next ; )

Coogee Beach

Day 5.

So I am lying on the beach writing this blog. 32 c , loads of people having fun all around. Sun is shining and the sounds of the waves intense! Andrew and Katy and their friend are cracking the waves. It'll be my turn shortly, some sun bathing first to condition my skin : )

Andrew does not like sunbathing so he thought he'd kick loads of sand on my chest to try and encourage me to get into the sea. Nope! I'm staying here for a bit. : )

There are loads of topless girls around, strangely has no impact on me! The lifeguards however are hot as hell!

Right, down goes the iPad! Sea here I come! Ciao!! X

Sitting down in SushiRoll

Let's get this out straight away my feet are killing!! Lol. I am not used to this much walking but can't help it with this beautiful weather and lovely city.

I went to Hyde park today, yes you heard! Hyde Park. No, I haven't teleported back to London. It is not like Hyde Park in the London. This one is tiny but very quaint. Loads of lush trees that embark over the path ways. It feels very magical when you walk down the path, very relaxing!

There was a very respectable war memorial building at the entrance of the park. At the end is a very quaint water fall. You'll see what I'm taking about when I upload the photos.

Once you venture back into the concrete jungle you get to Liverpool street. The tall sky scrapers like buildings puts you in an ore. The buildings are very clean and the shops spotless. And almost everyone u pass is super fit. It really makes you want to be healthy. It also not expensive unlike home to be healthy. I have worked out every morning with an intense work out just to try to catch up with them, lol.

Right now I am in SushiRoll. I had a crab sushi sandwich which was just lush! Again you'll see the photo soon. It was full of colours and taste, yummy! Green tea to finish it off. At this rate you'd think I was in Asia! Well, give me a chance. I'll have to see what the delicacy of Australia. Kangaroo balls?? Eww!! Lol

Left Hong Kong ..... now entering New South Wales

What a journey?!

I have no idea how my elderly parents managed to do this journey. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving it but on a long journey like this you REALLY need to have some sleep! I find it hard, unlike some to sleep in a seat. I do envy those who are able to sleep flat on business class but I do not envy the price tag!

Landing in Hong Kong was strange for me. I am used to the Western feel of varying countries. The first thing I noticed landing in Hong Kong was the mountains to the side. They did not look like our mountains! Lol. Very strange but true. Ours look quite rugged even butch compared to theirs. Theirs look like they we shaped to their own taste, they actually look oriental. They actually looked like what they do on films. I always thought in films that they just CGI'd it or something. It looked very magical. It was very misty outside but China is as I've been told to suffer from pollution or it could just be their type of climate. Very strange as I thought it would be more like that in the summer not winter.

So.. I think I managed to cheat the Jet lag!! I didn't sleep to Hong Kong. I deliberately had as much sleep as possible when it became midnight Sydney time. Hopefully when I land there in an hour I won't feel the desperate need to sleep!!

Andrew (My brother) and Katy (His girlfriend) will be picking me up from the airport and dropping me at theirs. A quick shower and clean up then to the shops I think. My headphone socket decided to break again and I'm sure there is no AKG stockists around Sydney. : (. Sunglasses and a micro chip for my iPad. Did u really think an ex-Ofcom worker would be ditching his IPad due to roaming charges!! ; )

Not long now .... let the adventure begin : )

On the way.....

It's 2:38am UK time and I'm not tired at all. Most of premium economy troops are asleep and it is a very weird environment to be in. Very peaceful, dark but 80s club lighting kinda ambience. All I can hear is the roaring of the jet engines. I could easily put in ear plugs but that would just take away the experience which I should be sponging in.

So I'm here sitting near the isle, no fear of needing to wake anyone up to go to the toilet and feeling very independent. I've just paused "the social network" film. I guess that this is why I'm writing this blog. Inspiration if you like.

Those moments of leaving London edging further and further away. Those emotions of leaving your loved one calming and the excitement of what your ready to face ever increasing.

Emotions are strange things. They can be wonderful and evil at the same time. In Time terms however it can be very distracting. The emotions of worrying about getting your tickets without problems clouding the reality that you are just minutes of saying goodbye to your loved one and not going to see them for a while. The moment that ticket is in your hand and the baggage is handed it in the feeling dawns on you like a bombshell! A hug and a kiss and the walking away. The last wave and then in a split second they're gone. Reality sinks in.

YOU are going on an adventure of a lifetime!!
